Make Reindeer Food Cones to Feed Santa's Team

Our Christmas Eve rituals include wrapping gifts, saying goodbye to The Elf on the Shelf, and leaving milk and cookies for Santa.

One holiday tradition we always forget is making food for Santa's reindeer! We have a simple craft for kids to feed the reindeer this year.

Before Santa arrives, have the kids make reindeer cones to sprinkle a snack on Donner, Dasher, Dancer, and Comet.

Many magical reindeer food recipes call for oats and glitter, but we fill the cones with birdseed for sustainability.

Reindeer eat mosses, herbs, ferns, grasses, willow and birch shoots and leaves in the wild. The FDA says they can eat 18 pounds of plants daily!

Brown kraft paper can be rolled into a cone. Draw reindeer antlers, eyes, and a big red nose in the paper's middle with markers.

Form a cone and tape it. Fill cone with birdseed. Christmas Eve lawn sprinkle.
