Hanakapiai Beach is on Kauai's Napali Coast and can only be reached by the Kalalau Trail. It is one of the most dangerous places in the world to go swimming because of the strong waves and rip currents that have been known to sweep people out to sea.

The next safe beach place is about six miles away, in case a swimmer gets caught in a rip current. At least 30 people have died in these seas because of how dangerous they are.

A sign nearby, on the other hand, is said to keep track of how many people have died at Hanakapiai Beach. The number of deaths has hit the 80s.
