Kale Cucumber Juice: A Beginner’s Guide: This smoothie with kale and cucumber is a smart way to get more greens in our diet. You can’t go wrong by putting this drink on your menu; it tastes so good and is so refreshing.

You can also drink this smoothie to get more alkaline because it has ingredients that are high in alkaline. And eating foods that are alkaline is good for our health in general. It only makes sense that we’d want to eat them as often as possible.

Cucumber is something that everyone in my family loves. It’s something I often put in different kinds of salads, like this apple and melon salad or this cucumber and tomato salad. Or, I just cut the cucumber up and serve it by itself.

But I find it hard to enjoy Kale when it’s on the menu. When I don’t roast them to make crispy kale or stir-fry them with curly kale or make this Chick-Fil-A kale salad, I don’t really cook those great greens into my food. Because my kids are sometimes picky. I also don’t want to make something that my family doesn’t like.

The curly kale is good for them, so I try to find other ways to make sure our boys don’t miss it. One way is to add it to our smoothie. This apple and kale smoothie was my first try, and they like it. As a result, it has become my mission to come up with more smoothie recipes that use kale.

Simple Ingredients

All of the ingredients in this smoothie recipe are things that most of us already have in our kitchens. It’s not fancy stuff that’s hard to get.

  • You can get them at any grocery store.
  • Cucumber, kale, honey, and coconut water are the main things you need.
  • I also think you should add a squeeze of lemon juice and a teaspoon of root ginger juice to your smoothie to make it taste better.
  • That ginger-ale drink will taste so good, like a green smoothie, I promise.

No-brainer Method

  • All you have to do is get all of the ingredients ready and put them in a blender. Then blend them until they are smooth and thick.
  • Just so you know, you don’t need a fancy blender like this one to make this smoothie. But it’s fine if you do. The basic blender like this one is what I use.

What To Do To Have Fun

  • We can really have smoothies at any time of the day, as you all know. But my favourite times are in the middle of the morning when I’m hungry for a snack and after a meal.
  • And this cucumber and kale smoothie is something I always bring to summer barbecues. After all those protein-packed foods from the barbecue, don’t you think you need something alkaline to help you feel better?


  • ½ cucumber.
  • A handful of green curly kale.
  • 1 teaspoon clear honey.
  • 1 cup coconut water.
  • A squeeze of lemon juice optional, see the note.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger juice from 1-inch of root ginger optional, see the note
